What it examines

Brings together financial and risk information on 15 multilateral development institutions, with coordination by ADB and EBRD. It compares capital, liquidity, exposures and credit ratings, and adds selected recent trends. Reporting periods, definitions and business models differ, so individual indicators should be read in context rather than used as a simple ranking of financial strength.

Why it matters

Provides a common reference for examining banks and funds in which the UK holds a stake. It can inform questions about lending capacity and financial risk, but reports institution-level measures rather than UK contributions or the value of the UK’s holdings.

Published on 14 October 2026. Financial data generally use the latest completed fiscal year, mainly 2025, with varying year ends; ratings may have different reference dates.
