Reforming multilateral development banks: perspectives from client countries
What it examines
Draws on a survey of government and MDB officials and country interviews to assess financing, advice and operational effectiveness. Clients value MDB support but identify gaps in coordination, project preparation and the speed of delivery. The findings describe respondents’ perceptions, rather than independently measured development impacts.
Why it matters
Gives the UK, as an MDB shareholder and contributor, a client-country perspective on reform priorities and institutional accountability. The report covers several multilaterals in the Monitor; the UK application is the Monitor’s interpretation.
